Thanks very much
- there’s a lot to be said about the link between road design and health impacts from the vehicles that use them
- if you have any specific suggestions or comments, they would be most welcome
PM 2.5 concerns here in Fairbanks, Alaska. Why does the USA AirNow site map not include Alaska? Last winter we had dozens of exceedences of the 35 microns/cubic meter of air and its not even on their map.
As a Canadian, do not know the answer to your question but agree Alaska isn’t shown on the Airnow map (as Hawaii is)
- when I did a search for Airnow and Alaska I found links to several sites that do show maps and values of PM in Alaska- for example at https://fortress.wa.gov/ecy/aaqm/Default.htm
- you might ask EPA directly or leave a comment on the airnow site
http://airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=airnow.local_state&stateid=2
The Fortress still does not include the Fairbanks PM 2.5 nonattainmt area. It does include several attainmt areas in Alaska however.
The AIRNow site doesn’t appear to have a submit comments email. But no matter, Fairbanks data isn’t exportable yet. Here we breathe, worst in the nation many winter days.
